This little oasis was made by a lovely local on their property, made from an old shipping container and camper van. This area provides the perfect home for those cats that are unable to be rehomed but still have a wonderful life ahead of them. We call these sweet fluffy muchkins the ‘Long Term Residence’ and they have a very special spot in our hearts.
The inside is cooler than a Uni dormitory, with separate beds for the cats who would rather sleep and eat alone.
There is also share spaces that allow them to catch up with one another is they so desire, usually this is for bird watching.
The containers have a very boujee life, with heating and cooling, a large cat run attached so they can all feel wild whilst protecting the other animals in the bush and tv/radios.
We have 5 lovely long-term fosters in the Cat-a-lodge.
With some needing more special attention, like Marvin, who has hypothyroidism so needs medication 3 times a day.
The donations we receive help aid with the cost of maintaining all the elderly cat’s vaccinations, medications and any other medical requirements that come up. These include dental cleans, grooming and checkups. As well as food, litter and other necessities.
